Orchestral violin
Only the finest selected and aged timbers are used for my orchestral/classic violins, to which is allied meticulous workmanship and attention to details such as arching and thicknessing. Made from either Engish sycamore or European maple, with a 'Swiss pine' (European spruce) top and first quality ebony fittings.
I somewhat break from the traditional (i.e. Italian) construction methods by using an outside or 'French' mould, which i have designed to be collapsible. This then allows me to complete the finished arching and purfling at a much earlier stage, and a great degree of accuracy in fitting back and belly
