My citterns (or five-course bazouki, if you prefer) have a spruce top and walnut or sycamore sides as standard, maple or FSC certified mahogany neck, and quality 'Schaller' machines. The 59.8 cm scale makes the instrument adaptable to a range of tunings - usually based around G or  D. The fixed bridge gives a richer, deeper tone than its floating counterpart -  slightly more akin to a guitar, some would say. Although considered a  'flat' top and back, the back especially is considerably arched to help punch the sound out, making this a great session or stage instrument for those with the skills required to play it. Also available in Indian Rosewood (example shown) - other timbers, please enquire as to cost.

PRICE: £1100
