Flat-backed mandolin

Flowing curves and simple, harmonious design are the hallmarks of these instruments. My flat-back mandolins particularly suit 'Argentine' strings (fitted as standard) - perhaps not so loud as using bronze or phosphor bronze, but very sweet-toned, with sparkling highs without a hint of harshness or brashness.

The example shown is in figured walnut with tinted spruce soundboard and mahogany neck; I also use sycamore and maple as standard options. Ebony or English hardwood fingerboard, engraved 'Schaller' machines.
